Today, I want to inform you that the 2nd edition of my book Hands-On Mobile App Testing is available for purchase on leanpub.com 🎉. I am pretty happy with the 2nd edition, since it’s so much better than the first edition. I completely revised every chapter. I removed outdated content and added many new sections to the chapters. While working through the first edition, I noticed that many link resources are not working anymore or are outdated. Many of the tools, I mentioned in 2014 are not available anymore. I was thinking about a solution to prevent the book resources becoming outdated too fast.
For this reason, I created a proxy page here on my blog for the 2nd edition. All resources from the book, link to my proxy page. With that logic in place, all links inside the book will remain valid and working. I am making sure, that all links on the proxy book page are up to date and available for you when you need them 😀. I hope you like this idea!
Next to the links, I was reworking all the images inside the book, mainly the graphics I was creating myself back in 2014. They look much fresher and nicer now. At the same time I added some more images to the chapters.
Here is a quick summary of what I have changed in the 2nd edition:
- All chapters got updated
- New way of link resource handling.
- Chapter 4 and 5 got updated with the latest tooling and techniques in mobile testing.
- Chapter 7 got new sections for beta testing, staged rollout and mobile release train.
- Chapter 9 added with a new technology trends.
- Every image in the book got a make over.
I am looking forward to your feedback about the book. If you have any feedback get in contact with me via twitter or send me a message at daniel [at] adventuresinqa [dot][com].
I would be more than happy if you would spread the news with your testing network.
As a next step, I am also looking into print on demand solutions for the book. By now you can get the digital version at leanpub.com in pdf, mobi or epub format.
If you want to read the book as paperback version, follow this link to get your personal copy of the book from Amazon.
